Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41 AB0139211G1A1
In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a wrist-worn chronograph with a rotating slide rule that allowed pilots to make all the necessary calculations for flight. Two years later, the design was unveiled as the official timepiece design for the world's largest pilot's club, the Association of International Owners and Pilots (AOPA). This is the birth of the "Navigation Timer", that is, the "Navitimer". During the golden age of civil aviation, the Navitimer was used by airline captains and aviation enthusiasts as a de facto pilot's watch.
In 1962, it was attached to the wrist of astronaut Scott Carpenter and advanced to space. And it wasn't just pilots who were drawn to the beauty of this watch, it was also worn by celebrities of the day, such as Miles Davis, proving that the Navitimer was a combination of function and style.
Since its launch, the Breitling icon has produced many models, but this new Navitimer retains its most classic features, but with modern refinements. Flattened rotary slide rule and domed crystal for a slimmer look. The use of metal parts with alternating polished and satin finishes creates a glossy yet understated impression. The return of the AOPA wings to the original 12 o'clock position is also an update that evokes nostalgia.
