Based on the original blueprints and recreated with astonishingly accurate detail, the Defy Revival A3691 recreates every detail and idiosyncratic design element that made the original so distinctive in its day, the way it established the standards that continue to inspire contemporary Defy models, and the reviving the vibrant colors of the original. The faceted octagonal case and 14-sided bezel, the deep red dial with a striking gradient effect that darkens towards the edges, the unusual square applied hour markers with horizontal lines and now replaced by a more modern and ergonomic folding clasp The reissue features a Gay Flair steel "ladder" bracelet, which has now been replaced by a more modern and ergonomic folding clasp.

The only visual differences between the reissue and the original are the sapphire crystal, the caseback that allows a view of the interior, and the type of luminescent paint. The 30 ATM water resistance is retained from the original model, even with the addition of the caseback.
Another important difference is the way the time ticks inside. Instead of the original solid caseback decorated with a star connecting four dots, which became one of the brand's logos and a design element used repeatedly over the years, the Defy Revival A3691 offers a view of the in-house self-winding Elite 670 movement It has a sapphire crystal caseback. The movement beats at 4 Hz (28'800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of 50 hours.
